Birthday Presents

Aside from getting an extra hour to enjoy my birthday this year, I also received a very thoughtful gift from Andrew. I bought a $3 Crest Spin Brush a few months ago to try it out and was rather pleased with it. So, Andrew decided to up the ante and get me a Oral B / Braun Professional Care 7400.

All I can say is WOW! My teeth feel so clean and there is such a huge difference in quality. It's quieter, more powerful, has a recharging base with a battery that doesn't contain heavy metals, has 2 speeds, a timer, and interchangeable heads with a nifty storage compartment. You can even put different colored bands on each head, so you can share the base with your S.O. (now I know why Andrew selected this one for my birthday -- he's already claimed the extra head and took it for a test drive).

It does have a money-back guarantee if you don't see an improvement in your teeth and gums, which is impressive. Consumer Reports also gave it a good review and it's the only electric toothbrush Andrew could find that was proven to be more effective than brushing with an ordinary toothbrush.

The slower setting works well to massage the gums and the 2 minute timer makes it easy to gauge how long you've been working. I had so much fun tonight that I went for 4 minutes!

Now before you start to think that I'm a cheap date and easily impressed, let it be known that I DO have another present en route. But I'll save that review for when it arrives . . . .

How did you spend YOUR extra hour today?

Changes

Well, after my trip to San Diego, I made the decision to finally wean Arianna. It went really well. I had been gone for almost 5 days and she only asked about it a few times. I just told her there wasn't anymore, which I'm sure was pretty close to the truth.

I was all excited about the prospect of having my own body back to myself, when a few days later I realized that I was pregnant! So much for THAT hope. We will be expecting our newest bundle of joy around May 22, 2007.

Hugs,
Rebecca

Just goes to show you, the only thing that is certain (other than death and taxes) is Change!
