Rain Gutter bookshelf

I saw this idea on someone's blog and thought, "Hey, this is so cute and affordable, I might just do it for all of my homeless big books lying on the floor."

Just screw vinyl gutters to the wall and voila, instant bookshelf!

Enjoy,

A New Perspective on CIO (Crying It Out)

Wow, this is an amazing look at cry it out from a fresh perspective.

This is one of the most thought-provoking articles I have read on this topic.

Online Montessori Classes

This is my fifth week taking online classes for Montessori teacher training at http://www.usamontessori.org/ I can't even begin to tell you how much I've learned already. I've always wanted to read Maria Montessori's work and now I'm doing it with the support of great teachers and classmates.

And for $15 a month, it's a no-brainer because you can complete classes at your own pace, without having to give up a year of your life and a few grand to get AMI trained. Don't get me wrong, I'd totally love that, but it's just not feasible for me right now with two little ones, running my own part-time preschool, and living on one income. So this program has been a real godsend to me and to other Montessorians around the globe.

Maybe I'll see you in class some time?

New Yoga Studio

There is a new yoga studio in Penfield, New York and I just had the pleasure of attending a workshop with one of the instructors there. Her name is Cathy and the type of yoga she teaches is Anusara. I don't know much about the different kinds of yoga but I can say that Cathy is an excellent teacher.

At the workshop, she made an effort to learn everyone's name and give each one of us specific feedback about our poses. If I was doing something incorrectly, she came over and helped me fix it. If I did something well, she told me it looked great. And I loved the focus of this workshop, which was "Ease and Grace". I've never left a workout feeling so whole in body and mind. It was the best money I've spent in a long time.

If you check out their website, you'll find a schedule of classes and rates. They are also hosting a free Open House this Saturday.

See you there!
