Mothers and Babies First

Here's an article describing the UK's plans to increase mothers' choices in how and where they will be able to deliver their babies. It's great to see that home birth is right up there with the option to birth at a hospital.

I was shocked when I saw the stats in the U.S., where it seems only 1% of all births take place at home. I never thought of myself as being on the fringes of society, but apparently my thinking on this topic deviates FAR from the norm! Personally, I can't wait to have a waterbirth in the comfort of my own home, without all of those damned residents getting in the way of my concentration.

I'm feeling much better this week, by the way. Thank you to everyone for the good wishes.

Also of note, second children DO seem to get less attention from family and friends, or so says the general consensus on this list! Thanks for sharing all the great stories. I know this pregnancy is SO different from Arianna's. I can't wait to meet this unique little person!
